Perseville U. Mendoza earned his PhD in Philippine Studies, Master of Arts in Philosophy, and Bachelor of Arts from the University of the Philippines where he taught philosophy from 2000 to 2016. His PhD thesis explored Filipino philosophy in the Filipino Martial Arts, where his research addressed questions about identity, culture, and indigenous thought. He later completed a Master of Professional Practice from Otago Polytechnic in New Zealand, exploring the relationship between critical learning and problem-solving. He has academic publications in the areas of ethics, philosophy and culture. His last publication is a co-authored article that explored the concept of professional conversation as a method of experiential learning and reflective practice. Previously, he taught at the AUT University in Auckland, handling courses in applied ethics, culture and society. Currently, he works within the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, and he lives in Auckland with his wife and two sons.Â
